I created this unique piece in a Dogwood root. It measures 20” from the top of the root to the bottom of the root. It is 21” wide. It stands 10” tall, measuring from the surface to the tallest point of the root. This is a stand-alone sculpture that is perfect for your kitchen table, desk, or any other surface needing a bit of whimsy.

I used hand tools and grinders to create this carving. My repertoire includes many different rotary bits, different sandpaper grits, steel wool, polyurethane, and thinned, oil-paint.
This is really a unique sculpture. I uprooted this small sapling a couple of years ago, removed the root structure, cleaned it up, and then carved this wizard in it. I love the presence of this piece!

I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.

Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
