I began carving this large eagle a couple of years ago. I roughed it out with a chainsaw and then let it sit. Sitting gave this large log plenty of time to dry out. Just recently, I decided to finish this cool carving.
56” tall, 17” wide, 16” deep... Eastern White Pine
When I began carving this log I needed a tractor to move it. Now, that I have cut away so much of the wood, I’m able to easily move it by hand. I’m guessing this carving only weighs around 50 pounds now.
I made this carving using a chainsaw, a few hand tools, a torch, some sandpaper, and lots of elbow grease. I really enjoyed creating this large piece. It is finished with Sherwin Williams superdeck oil, so it is sealed for indoors or out.
This carving will look awesome on your hearth, in the bedroom, as a greeter on the porch, or any other place you’d like to display it. This is a one of a kind piece, and it sure makes a statement.

I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.

Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
