This is a very unique wood carving in a piece of Dogwood. This three-legged branch made for the perfect medium for such a whimsical character. He will make a perfect wood gift for him, her or oneself.
“Ol’ Tripod”... 6 3/4" tall, 7" wide, 4 3/4" thick..
This is a free-standing carving with three legs that hold it up. This crazy piece will look great on your desk, table, night stand or just about anywhere. I really like this piece :)
I made this carving using several different hand tools. I use aggressive bits to "rough out" the shape of the carving. Next, I use much smaller bits to achieve detail. There is a whole lot of sanding that goes on throughout the process. I finished this piece using a couple coats of spray urethane and thinned, oil paints.

Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
