This is a wood carving of a wood spirit. It is a hand carved woodworking that makes a perfect birthday gift.
10 1/2" tall, 3 1/2" wide, 1 3/8" thick....
Wall hanging.....I signed and dated the back of this carving. I include a certificate with all of my wood spirit carvings that tells a bit about me and my process.
I am in charge of everything that goes on in this shop....The carving, packaging, listing, shipping, communication...It's all me. I don't have any elves, helpers or workers. So, when you buy from me, you are supporting me and my family. We really appreciate you!

I created this sculpture in an ocean, driftwood knot. This knot spent most of its life in a tree. When the tree died, the knot came loose and made its way to the ocean. The ocean tumbled and shaped this unique piece of wood. After many years out to sea, this knot washed up on shore where it was found and eventually made its way to me. It is said that spirits inhabit these knots which allow the knots to remain in tact for so long. My job is to release the spirits :)
I carve using rotary hand tools. Some of the detail bits that I use are as thin as needles. I add just a tad of oil paint to accentuate my cuts.
Everything in my shop is made by hand, by me, Josh.

Custom and personalized orders
Yes, I sometimes take custom orders :) Contact me and we can discuss the specifics.
I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.
I am also happy to make custom chainsaw carvings of about any animal or object you'd like.

Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
