This is a very unique chainsaw wood carving of a skull. This spooky sculpture makes a perfect wood gift for him or her. This is a one-of-a-kind handmade woodworking by me, Josh Carte.
15 1/2" tall, 8" wide, 9" thick...It weighs around 5 1/2 pounds.
This sculpture is made of Aspen wood.
This is a free-standing sculpture. I must say that I really, really love this skull! It makes me feel very satisfied and humbled to be a woodcarver for a living. I get to bring things to life that never existed prior to my hands shaping them. I am so grateful for this work :)
I created this carving using a chainsaw as the only shaping tool- no hand tools. I used a bit of sandpaper to smooth the surface, and I finished the carving using an airbrush. I sprayed one coat of sealer to make this carving a little easier to clean, while still looking very natural.
This carving will look great on a desk, kitchen table, entryway, bathroom or any other spot inside your house that you want to make more awesome :)

I used a unique drying process to get the moisture content of this piece of wood very low. This ensures the stability of the piece. It took me a lot more time and energy to dry this piece, but it is worth it in the long run.

Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
