This is a very unique and wonderful piece of burl wood!
I am in charge of everything that goes on in this shop....The carving, packaging, listing, shipping, communication...It's all me. I don't have any elves, helpers or workers. So, when you buy from me, you are supporting me and my family. We really appreciate you!
I used a whole lot of different tools to make this carving. It began with a sketch and ended with lots of sand paper and urethane. In between were jig saws, hand tools and router bits. This type of carving is called, "pierced relief". It is a very time consuming style of carving but I love every minute of it! This is truly a one of a kind carving.
This piece of wood is completely natural other than the sealer. There is no paint, stain or dye used on this carving.
There are some live edges and bark inclusions to this carving. I really love this type of wood. These burls grow on Sugar Maples and are just amazing to me. Many buds are sent to one area where a burl is formed and the resulting wood is very hard with interlocking grain.
I live in the woods, so I'm very inspired by what's around me- trees, animals and sometimes people :)

I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.

Care instructions
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
