“Waiting for Worse”
17” tall, 9” wide at widest point, 2 1/2” thick
I carved this glum guy in a Pine knot. Pine knots are sort of like the forest’s driftwood. Any place a branch meets the base of a Pine, a knot is formed. When the tree eventually dies and decays back into the earth, all that remain are the resilient, pitch-filled knots. It is said that spirits inhabit the knots. My job is to release the spirits :)
This is a wall-hanging carving. I include a certificate with all of my Wood Spirits. There is a hanger on the back, along with my signature and the date.

Yes, I sometimes take custom orders :) Contact me and we can discuss the specifics.
I really enjoy creating themed walking sticks such as Odin, Thor, Baron Samedi or many, many other possibilities. If you'd like a stick with bears, owls, or whatever else you might have in mind, just shoot me a message and we can discuss it.
I am also happy to make custom chainsaw carvings of about any animal or object you'd like.
I know that, as a customer, you expect a certain level of control over the custom process and I, as an artist, expect a certain level of freedom. When we are able to meet in the middle, beautiful things can happen :)
Don't be afraid to message me :) Thanks so much!
My carvings can be cleaned using many different methods. A feather duster works nicely. Compressed air (duster or air compressor) also works well. If on a porch or indoors, my carvings will never need a new coat of sealer. Chainsaw carvings that are outdoors will need a fresh coat of sealer each year.
